Puppy School was founded by Gwen Bailey the well known animal behaviourist and best selling author of many dog training/behaviour books. She has personally chosen and trained a nationwide network of puppy school tutors specialising in kind reward based methods of training.
I am the Puppy School tutor for the Wantage/Didcot/Faringdon area and I hold classes in The Old Mill Hall, School Lane, Grove, Nr Wantage. The classes are held on Sunday afternoons.
The course is for 6 weeks and will help you to raise a well behaved and good mannered dog. The course is for all puppies under 20 weeks old. The course covers the sit, down, stand, recall, stay, loose lead walking, settle, and the off and take it command. The course also covers exercises that will teach your dog how to greet people without jumping up and not to be aggressive around food and chews. Also getting your pup used to being handled and groomed all over and loads of advice on play biting and general puppy problems!
Of course one of the most important functions of the training and socialisation classes is to give your pup the chance to socialise and play with the other puppies, the children and the other adults attending. This is very important as your puppy will learn to be relaxed and happy in the company of other canines, people and children.
The course costs £60 and your puppy can attend as soon as he/she is fully vaccinated. Book early to avoid disappointment. Courses run all year round and a new course starts roughly every 3 weeks. You are welcome to visit a class at any time. To book a place or make further enquiries call the centre on 01235 766907
I run classes for older and adult dogs. A new course is starting on Sunday 9th March 7:45 - 8:45 in The Old Mill Hall, Grove. Places are limited so please book early. More details call 01235766907 or email sheilamcd@fastmail.fm
